Anni Lindenberg - Ecuador Program Director
Anni Lindenberg grew up in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Boston, and Atlanta. She attended Whitman College, a small liberal arts college, in the onion capital of the world, Walla Walla. After graduating from Whitman and teaching for a year in Santiago, Chile, Anni embarked on an extensive traveling sojourn throughout South America. When Anni returned to the U.S. she settled in San Francisco where she enrolled in UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education joining the Multicultural Urban Secondary English Education program, earning her teaching credential and a MA in Education. She worked as a high school English teacher in San Francisco for several years, took a bit of a detour by participating in a NOLS Alaska outdoor educator program, and currently lives in Austin pursuing a Ph.d. in Language and Literary studies at the University of Texas, Austin.
2010 is Anni's 5th season with VISIONS. Anni feels lucky to have found VISIONS which continues to provide the occasion for self-discovery, social awareness, and an opportunity to become part of a larger global community. Anni began her adventures with VISIONS in 2004 as a staffer in the Dominican Republic. Since then she has been hooked and has spent her summers as staff with VISIONS Montana, VISIONS Costa Rica, and now as the director of VISIONS Ecuador.
When she is not working, Anni can be found training for triathlons, swimming, reading in the park, working on craft projects, laughing, watching crappy reality tv, hiking or hanging out with friends.
