Colleen Webb - Montana Program Director

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Colleen Webb began seriously traveling during college when she studied for a semester in Toledo, Spain. After earning a BA in both Spanish and English from the University of Dayton, she set off to “see the world.” Her travels took her to France, Peru, Holland, and Costa Rica where Colleen led VISIONS programs for two seasons. She has lived in places across the U.S. for varying spells, soaking in the diverse beauty of our country.

After college Colleen was an AmeriCorps* VISTA in Sacramento, California, where she designed and ran an afterschool program for at-risk youth.  After exploring the West Coast and its mountains, she headed back home to Chicago.  She has begun to feel really at home in the classroom whether with her 3rd graders at St. Viator or her high school students at Lane Tech.  With one class to go before completing her Masters Degree at DePaul University in K-12 Spanish and English Education, Colleen feels that she is now moving along the right path to her goal of sharing the beauty of language with others.

In addition to words and adventure, service is one of the most important things in Colleen’s life.  Currently, she focuses her energies on a not-for-profit called Practice With  A Purpose that organizes Chicago-land musicians to volunteer their talents in local retirement communities, hospitals, shelters, etc.

Colleen joined the VISIONS team in 2007, and never looked back. For Colleen, VISIONS is smiles, sharing, learning, and inevitable growth. It is practical proof that with open hearts and minds, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished.
