The Service Projects

VISIONS students don't just ferry buckets of nails or hand off power tools to the carpenter or adobe bricks to local maestros. Participants do the work. We employ carpenters, masons and other professionals who teach the technical skills and are on board to guide you as you do the work.

We build to hurricane specifications in the Caribbean, where many of our structures are the designated hurricane shelters in neighborhoods.  In Alaska, the Mentasta Village community center we built over two summer seasons was one of two buildings that withstood the 2002 Denali Fault 7.9 earthquake. VISIONS projects are robust, well planned, well executed, and needed by our host communities.

See VISIONS' projects below. You also may review 2011 summer projects.
