The Adventure of A Lifetime

Imagine yourself in a tiny South American village, building a community center and laughing with your village neighbors over dinner one night. Your next day off from service work will be spent on a tour of the nearby rainforest with a local expert guide with all of your service group friends. If this sounds like your idea of the perfect summer vacation, Visions is looking for you.

Visions is a international community service based organization that believes that when given the right tools and resources, teens can make a difference in individuals and communities. The impact of this will stay with those teens for the rest of their lives. Our mission is to introduce teens to cultures completely different from their own. The idea is to encourage teen culture immersion. We allow teens to live in underprivileged communities and make connections with the people they are helping while also embarking on the adventure of a lifetime. Through recreational activities and sightseeing, teens are also learning about the region they are assigned to while having fun with their peers.

Being a service based organization, Visions programs consist of service work 55-60% of the time. The rest of the time is spent exploring the area that the teens are assigned to. Our volunteers are sent all over the world to some of the most beautiful and exciting locations on earth. Through recreational excursions and internships with local artisans and local professionals, volunteers really get an idea of what life is like in a place utterly different than their own towns. In addition, teens are encouraged to spend time with members of the community they are servicing. Most of our volunteers make connections with many community members and walk away from the experiences with new friends.

Visions believes that teen community service is just as beneficial for the teen performing the service as it is for the community they are servicing. Teens are able to work on their own leadership and communication skills while embarking on the adventure of a lifetime.
