There are many teen summer service programs for high school and middle school students.  VISIONS Service Adventures, established in 1988, creates programs with a unique balance between meaningful service, authentic cultural immersion experiences, and unforgettable adventure, all under the guidance of seasoned leaders who preserve the safety of our participants at all times. It’s the unusual blend of thoughtful participation and hands-on experience that is unique to VISIONS’ volunteer summer programs.

Meaningful Service
Our teen summer service programs aren’t for everybody. They require intentional commitment in order to meet a variety of needs within the communities we serve. Each participant dedicates at least 55% of his or her time to construction and non-construction service projects in addition to participating in cultural experiences and exploration excursions. Service is the vehicle that builds bridges to cultural understanding and friendship. The work we do is planned closely with the host community. VISIONS may be the most rewarding summer break a teenager can experience.

Genuine Cultural Experiences
Community life is at the heart of the cultural experience with VISIONS Service Adventures. We work closely with the very people who benefit from our service projects, which gives us an appreciation of the fruits of our labors in a very real way. Sharing work projects, meals, and recreation with the local community allows us to live the culture rather than simply observing it. We become, for a brief time, citizens of the community, not just tourists passing through.

Unforgettable Adventure
Impressive natural vistas, beautiful wildlife, and inspiring historical sites are explored through adventure outings. VISIONS teen summer service programs offer a wide range of outdoor activities, including kayaking, whale watching, hiking and backpacking, rock climbing, scuba diving, cave exploring, and more.

Security
VISIONS is proud of our dedication to the safety and security of every teen entrusted to our care.  With a one-to-four ratio of staff to students and an established presence in each host community, students experience an ideal blend of independence with appropriate supervision at all times.
