ENGLISH SPEAKING VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
VISIONS summer volunteer programs for teens take place abroad and in the U.S. Some of our high school and middle school students previously participated in youth summer camps and are now ready for an international or domestic experience of robust community service, cultural immersion and travel. For other teens, VISIONS may be the first of summer adventures away from home.
SPANISH SPEAKING VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
Spanish immersion programs offer teens the opportunity to develop language skills while also engaging in meaningful service projects. Local people at our programs abroad are patient mentors in teaching the language. Programs longer than 16 days require that participants have studied Spanish for at least two years.
FRENCH SPEAKING VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
VISIONS French immersion program is in the Caribbean country of Guadeloupe. For more than fifteen years, VISIONS high school students have completed construction projects, volunteered in children's summer camps, and assisted with environmental initiatives in Guadeloupean villages. Participants on this French immersion summer program must have at least two years of French language study.
MIDDLE SCHOOL TRAVEL PROGRAMS
Many summer travel camps for middle school teens and tweens focus primarily on recreation and adventure experiences. In contrast, VISIONS Passage Programs have the same framework as our high school programs: ambitious service, cultural immersion and fun excursions, which happen in a supportive, small group setting.
