My summer was rewarding because the people of Nicaragua helped me as much as I helped them. During the school year…I fell into a seemingly endless cycle of work, TV, and exercise. Going away from home and all the stress ultimately enabled me to adopt a more positive attitude. I found the projects to be physically enhancing and rewarding. The salsa dancing and the horseback riding were two of the biggest highlights… Seeing how almost all of the Nicaraguans I met have a zealous disposition makes me genuinely want to become a better person.

The work was usually pretty difficult, but at the end, it was definitely worth it…I learned a lot this summer. The waterfall hike was fantastic and beautiful. Zip-lining was super, too. The weekend at the finca was probably my favorite.
