Teen volunteers in the Dominican Republic have been carrying the torch this month on a 25-year tradition of VISIONS work in this wonderfully vibrant Caribbean nation. Along with our partner organization, the Lions Club, kids broke ground on a new school in the community of San Luis. The large school we previously constructed in San Luis is now filled to capacity, and hundreds of kids in the...

Going strong is the theme! VISIONS high school students and leaders on the Blackfeet have already packed a lot into their time on the reservation. In addition to projects at the ranch and in Browning, kids have participated in a sweat lodge with a community elder, spent time with our long-time partner and ranch manager, Dale Pepion, taken in the beauty of the Rockies at Two Medicine Lake...

VISIONS Nicaragua participants and leaders send a warm "saludos" from their temporary home in the town of Jinotega. The area is known in part for being the source of 80% of Nicaragua's coffee, but here our participants are enjoying another small trade of the province: ceramica negra, or black pottery. Kids do workshops with women from this pottery collective, which resides not far from our homebase.

From Incan ruins and one of South America's largest artisan markets, our Peru participants gathered for this group picture to share with friends and family back home. Pisac is one of many of our extraordinary excursions during the Peru community service trip, and kids enjoyed their time exploring the ruins before meandering through the marketplace in the town below.

It's been a terrific time in Myanmar, and the group still has a lot more to look forward to! This weekend will find our teen volunteers and program leaders in Bagan, and then they'll complete work projects and spend their last days with our community friends next week.
